It was an awesome double Elvis performances at the Lake Club on New Year's Eve 2009.
I was the main entertainer at 2 venues - The Banquet Hall & The Orchid.
The Banquet Hall on the 2nd Floor is the main hall hosting about 40 tables, while The Orchid is a smaller hall of about 25 tables but with a more cosy atmosphere. My performances featured an Elvis segment, followed by a variety segment of various retro songs, including a Cantonese song from my debut Cantonese album, and 'Getaran Jiwa' by P. Ramlee.
The Banquet Hall had an amusing crowd. During an interaction segment, a Caucasian gentleman commented that I had a cute butt (???) Our spontaneous jokes and funny lines had everyone in stitches. Among the crowd, I saw some familiar faces. One loyal fan is none other than Dr. Robert. He has been attending most of my shows over the years, from the Ol Skool Pub to Bangsar Actors Studio and even at Lake Club events. Thank you, Dr. Robert!
Having finished my performance at the Banquet Hall, I proceeded to The Orchid, as the guests there were eagerly waiting for my performance.
While the dresscode for The Orchid is black tie/formal, the guests here were more 'happening'. They sang and clapped to all my songs, and one guest in particular, Doreena, who is an expat, did not hesistate to dance along with me to 'Blue Suede Shoes'. My performance was extended with an encore of 3 songs, ending with Jailhouse Rock.
Compliments from the floor ensued, and admittedly, it was one of the best performances I've had in my years of Elvis impersonation - the crowd was just so delighted & encouraging, it just makes me want to sing more & more. Moments later, we did the New Year countdown and the guests partied on...
It was a successful double performances at the Lake Club. Judging from the audience' response, there shall be more opportunities to sing at the Lake Club again. To all the guests at both venues, thank you so much for making it an unforgettable New Year's Eve for me. To the management of Lake Club, thank you for the honour to perform at your esteemed club, and making all the necessary arrangements for me. Wishing all of you a Prosperous New Year, with good health, inner peace & happiness always. God bless you!

Christmas Eve Elvis performance at Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur
It was my 2nd year performing at Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur on Christmas Eve, back by popular demand. It's a challenge for me as I want to make my performance even better than last year's. I added many new songs to give it a fresh appeal, especially for repeated audience.
Gearing up for the show, at my suite in Federal Hotel.
The performance turned out to be great. The response was better than expected, and the hotel management complimented that I had improved from last year and it was a better show this year. My next challenge : to come up with an even more outstanding show next year :)
My sister, Mew Ling, with my parents, Bruce & Pat Wong.
With my wife, Natalie, who is a reliable personal assistant for all my performances.
Of all my Elvis performances during the year, the Christmas Eve show at Federal Hotel is my biggest event. I pray that it shall be an ongoing annual affair, with creative ideas for future performances. To everyone who attended the Christmas Eve dinner show 2009, a big thank you for your applause and warm greetings. It's been a pleasure entertaining all of you. Wishing you all a fabulous 2010 with good health, inner peace and happiness. Cheers!

It was a charity lunch for the children from Century Care Home. Next to me are my kids, Bradley & Brandel. The hotel threw in a surprise birthday cake for me, with the children singing the birthday song for me (and Brandel too....we share the same birthday, yes, we're both Christmas babies.)

My Christmas Eve Elvis Dinner & Dance at Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur was featured on Astro Awani. It was a live broadcast over the morning talkshow.

'Elvis' in a City - New Sunday Times 20 Dec 2009
Here's my featured article about me as Elvis, and my car, Honda City.
A big thank you to Ms. Grace Chen for the excellent write-up & wonderful photos.
....“I sing along to the CD player and the Top 40s, and Elvis’ numbers are a favourite choice. Of late, I’ve been hearing a lot of my own voice too,” said Wong, who has just cut his first Cantonese album, Yat Foh Chan Chee Sam, with New Southern Records.
While Wong admits to having a lukewarm interest for cars, he does have his eyes set on a Honda CRV for a weekend car and maybe a new version of the Honda City sometime in the future.
For now, he is content with the iron horse in his driveway.
"It suits my needs as a family man," said Wong...

MNI 10th anniversary dinner at Mentakab, Pahang - 5 Dec 2009
Malaysian Newsprint Industries (MNI), a subsidiary of Hong Leong Industries, celebrated its 10th anniversary at a lavish dinner held in Mentakab, Pahang.
There were over 200 lucky draw prizes, including a 42' LCD TV as the grand prize.
I performed 'Burning Love' as the grand opening gambit, backed by the bodaciously curvacious Paper Dolls as my dancers.
Featured songs were mainly of Elvis, such as 'Wooden Heart', 'Blue Suede Shoes' & 'Suspicious Minds'. I also sang '情花开' (Ching Fa Hoy), taken from my debut Cantonese album. My performance ended with '朋 友' (Pung Yau), popularized by Alan Tam, with many guests singing along as they celebrate their friendship in their esteemed organisation.
Congratulations to MNI on your 10th anniversary.
Wishing you even greater years ahead and many more golden anniversaries to come.
The talented Paper Dolls.
