The Penang Swimming Club located at Ferringhi Beach is one of the oldest recreation clubs in Malaysia. Founded in 1903, it's a posh private club which is not only for swimmers. The members are made of expats and locals alike.
The club was recently refurbished with its very own car park building added in the compound.
It is situated a prime location, at the start of Ferringhi Beach with a breath-taking sea view.
It was indeed an honour to be invited to this exclusive club for the New Year's Eve Performance & Countdown. Held at its grand ballroom beautifully decorated to the theme of Groovy 60's, the guests were entertained by a live band, along with party games on stage. As the saying goes 'Keeping the best for the last', my performance was scheduled before midnight to coincide with the much anticipated New Year's countdown.
As my songs brought everyone closer to the New Year, all were in the party mood gearing for more. Keeping the atmosphere lively with popular upbeat songs by Elvis, the crowd moved to the dance floor to shake and groove.
When midnight came, I led the highly charged audience with the countdown, bidding farewell to 2011 and a loud welcome to 2012. Memorable events filled my year of 2011. It was a year of great delight, with greater expectations in 2012 as I look forward to another year of surpassing fulfillment.
To the members of Penang Swimming Club, you rock! Hope to be back soon again. Cheers ~
