There was an exclusive Elvis Tribute performance at His Sanctuary Glory Church at OUG, KL on 16 Aug 2009. This was the main event which I had performed that day, after the opening act gig at Ol'Skool.
Sharing the centerstage with me was HT Long. It was yet another successful collaboration with him.
A big thank you to Rev Christopher Long and the church members, and HT Long for organising the event.

A new set of Elvis sunglasses from Graceland, presented to me by HT Long...what an honour.
Me & Michael Sin, the talented photographer. Cheers, mate!
Opening act for Elvis Marathon at Ol' Skool pub - 16 Aug 2009
Elvis is "alive" in Malaysia…through 18 Impersonators
By Teodora S. Cotrău
There was an awesome Elvis marathon on 16 Aug 2009 at Ol' Skool pub, Jalan Gasing.
I was the opening act, backed by 'The Strangers'. This is the best band in KL that plays instrumental hits by 'The Shadows'. Instead of the usual jumpsuit outfit, I wore an Elvis 60's gold jacket and performed hits like 'Hound Dog', 'Devil In Disguise', 'Can't Help Falling In Love'.
Excerpt from article :
"...And it’s amazing how during the show, I discover his belief on all impersonators’ lips. “He is God’s miracle. I think when you serve God as worship leader as I do, I believe that I’m tithing my talent…” opines Alex Wong, 33 years old, one of the participants. His faith drew him to success. On 2002, he won the First Prize to Graceland at Elvis Impersonators Competition organized across Malaysia. “I remember like it was yesterday, the day when I call the radio station who organized the show at that time to register myself. But before doing this, I prayed. I just wanted to give a try. God’s response was such an amazing surprise. Despite the amount of impersonators willing to take part into the competition, I was the first one on the line and eventually the first on stage”…added Alex. "

A big thank you to Calvin, the pub owner, for organizing this event. Also, to all who enjoyed my performance there, thank you so much for your warm support and singing along to 'It's Now Or Never' with me. Cheers!

*Latest update* : My Debut Cantonese album released in July 2009
I have been participating in singing competitions for more than 10 years now.
Apart from the significant victory in the 'Search for Elvis 2002' (by Light & Easy FM and BMG records), I've won several other 'artiste-themed' singing contests such as Boyz II Men (MIX FM/Universal Records)and Cranberries (WOW FM).
My biggest break happened at the Super Talent Search '07. I impersonated Jacky Cheung and Elvis Presley, with a creative transformation in between.
Here's how I did it...

In this competition, I won the grand prize - 1 year recording contract to release an album. Admittedly, to become a recording artiste is my dream come true - a personal achievement even greater than my Elvis impersonation accomplishment. This competition was broadcasted on Astro Jia Yu in early 2008.
In mid July 2009, my debut Cantonese album was finally released. The challenge I face is that I'm Chinese illiterate. So I had to do my own Cantonese pin yin, and consulted friends for better accuracy prior to recording.
My album features popular hit songs from Hong Kong, such as :
等
分分鐘需要你
相思河畔
情花开
留給世上我最愛的人
新不了情
四季歌
Included in my album are 2 original Cantonese tracks. These were previously Hokkien songs, with newly written lyrics for my album :
一顆真摯心
一生只得你
I've created these promo videos for my debut album, which includes the TV commercial aired on NTV7.
